It's Never Too Early for Christmas
We are asking for donations from our community to help this become a reality again this season. We need donations to cover our costs and to pay the professionals to complete our display. We will honor all donors and volunteers with a large sign at each of the three entrances to the area.
We have had volunteers sign up to illuminate trees - all trees have been assigned! Thank you!
Any amount of donation or any hours spent decorating are so helpful! No amount is too small as the dollars will add up!
Last day to have your donations included on our signs was Oct. 31st. Please don't let that stop you from helping us to continue the display next year! Donations are welcome year round!
New this season! Come see a beautiful "Memory Tree"
People could sponsor a lit lantern for $100 in memory of a loved one, to be featured in our "Memory Tree" display behind the library.
THANK YOU to everyone who has participated. The Last day to pay for & sign up to sponsor a lantern was Oct. 31st)

Art in Hart
The Art in Hart committee is excited to bring vibrant murals to Hartford, with 13 businesses eagerly participating in upcoming projects. After gathering ideas from the community, the committee plans to engage professional mural artists from Wisconsin, inviting renderings and cost proposals. Hartford aims to enhance its public spaces, envisioning walking tours that showcase the artwork, historic sites, and parks.
For information on current and past murals, click 'Learn More' below. Donations of any amount are encouraged to support this initiative.
We sincerely thank our generous donors: Douglas Jeweler, Broan-NuTone, Laufer Trucking, and the Hartford Lions. Stay tuned for potential murals at Schnorenberg's Floor Covering, Lotus Be Well, Nail Essentials, Faith & Giggles, and the Welsh Building. Your contributions have transformed our community!
Centennial Park
During the fall of 2023 VBH volunteers collaborated with The Parks and Recreation Department and the city to develop a planting plan for Centennial Park. With the generous support from the Hartford Area Foundation, together we purchased many trees and bushes. City employees planted all of it! Look for spring cherry blossoms, forsythia and ninebark. In fall beautiful Autumn blaze maples and gingko will be showstoppers. Holly, dogwood and evergreens will provide winter interest.
In summer of 2024 we were able to purchase 6 large self watering pots to be located around the park, This was made possible by generous sponsors for each planter. Again, the Hartford Foundation donation allowed us to plant colorful flowers with a red, white and blue theme.
