Spring Day of Service

Wednesday, May 22, 2024

Hartford Union High School has an annual Day of Service. Projects for the Day of Service are planned with the goal of contributing to the positive spirit of our community.  Project ideas include elder care, hunger/homelessness/poverty, gardening, animal care, literacy, tutoring, organization, and much more.

VBH will coordinate about 100 students who will work to clean up the garden areas around the Jack Russell Library and along the Riverwalk.  Adult volunteers are needed to help have our tools and snacks ready for the day and guide the students as we work together.

Join our garden club's volunteer team for Monday night weeding sessions, adopting a plot, maintaining various areas like Centennial Park and by the library, and being part of the watering crew led by Jason Wix of Faith and Giggles.

Every Monday evening from early May through early October (except for rainy days), we gather at the Alpine Garden at 6 pm (5 pm in the fall) for an hour of weeding followed by a relaxing moment with some beverages.

Simply bring a few hand tools and join us to enjoy the evening air – we'd love to meet you!
